Trying to decide what makes more sense:

"Since GM warranties take effect from the date you purchase the plan not the date you purchase the vehicle. It was pointed out to me that since I don't drive a lot of miles annually it's more cost effective in my case to buy a plan a couple months before the bumper to bumper warranty expires"

1:Getting it now
2: right before we hit 12,000 miles as Iv heard the price jumps a bit once 12,000 n over hits
3:waiting to get it until close to the end of the 3 years / 36K miles…

Thanks!

What vehicle and engine? Reliability varies by model many times.

I waited a year and put 10,232 miles on the vehicle before purchasing the Platinum extended warranty. I opted for the 0-deductible plan with coverage for 96 months or 100,000 miles, which extends my protection up to 110,232 miles or until 10/07/2033. The total cost was $2,806 for my 1500 Denali.

Your experience may vary, but for me, this seemed like the best option.

Good information. Is that cost negotiable from dealer to dealer or a set thing? Got a gm small suv for the college kid last year and will need/want to put an extended warranty on it soon.
