Popped over to the show last night. Here's a photo dump.

It seems there was a little bit more manufacturers there than last year, but still not gigantic like years past. We still enjoyed it.

We got there a bit late, so we did not get to check out the boat area.

Looks like a ghost town! You get special admission or something?

We arrived fairly late, they ended at 8 PM, so most of these photos were at the blitz as we were walking out at 7:50.

Was pretty busy when we arrived at 650, but also lots of people walking out.

Also, notably, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus did not have displays.

Stellantis and Subaru had vehicles inside and outside. You could drive the outside ones.

I go on Thursday evenings too. It's always a ghost town. Not sure if it picks up on the weekend. I got a photo of a restored Land Cruiser I'll post later.

We are old. In fact, just the other day, I realized that our 40th HS Reunion is only 2 years away.

Kids under 5 get free admission to the Autoboative show and my grandson with his Super Bowl weekend birthday will slide in just under the wire.

I hadn't gone in several years and I was shocked at how small the show had become.

The displays that were there and were very nice.

What really chapped my butt was paying $25 to park. Never had to pay more to park than the admission to an event.

We have been a few times over the past 10 years and it was a pretty good time. The old days in late 80's were great as most manufacturers had posters of their sports cars. We made it an annual event back in the day. I nabbed two Porsche posters in mid to late 80's that made me a fan for life. One was every Porsche model that year and another convertible (I think it was a 911 3.2 cabriolet) that was drifting in a fast turn titled "In the eye of a hurricane" with the top down that hung on my wall until my parents moved near the end off my time in Aggieland. That sold me for life. Not a 911 but pulled the trigger last year on Boxster 718 S. Porsche makes a beautiful machine. (I need some better pictures)

Nice to see these pictures, 1ags.

I haven't been to an auto show in years, but growing up in NY in the 1960s and 70s, going to an auto show with my dad was something I looked forward to every year. He's gone now but l will always treasure those memories.

Going to the Houston car show was a great time for me as a kid. I knew I'd get a chance to see my dream car (Dodge Viper) once a year. We lived in Navasota, and my parents would drive me down there. Good times.

I should dig through some old photos of my standing by Vipers as a kid and put it next to the photo of the day I finally got my own.

Hit a lucky streak this morning by getting in and out of the show without it costing me a dime.

Parking attendant said I didn't have to pay the $25 parking fee since we arrived before 10:00 and walking up to the show, a guy handed me two tickets.

We're kind of in the market for something for my wife. We don't have any kids but she needs enough storage to haul stuff around.

Two leading choices right now are the Lincoln Nautilus and the Buick Enclave. Curious if there are any huge issues with either of these vehicles.

We went this morning and it was pretty crowded by lunch time. Did not see Raptor R, Ecoboost Raptor or Ram RHO. They DID have a new TRX.

I'm pretty sure there was a RHO there

What new Kia SUV was that? Looked bigger than the Pallisade.

We are headed there this afternoon. 7 year old son really wants to see a Bugatti, and I guess I do too. Hopefully it won't be too awfully crowded.

New telluride. They dropped to a handful of dealers in TX this week. We have 15 at round rock.

Sad that both these are powered by turbo 4s now.

My son reminded me, we saw the RHO outside in the parking lot.

I drove an Enclave for a week a couple of years ago while in Kentucky. I looked at all the GM 3rd row midsized vehicles. The Enclave was the nicest interior and the quietest. Far superior to the Chevy Traverse. And better, and prettier that the Cadillac XT-6.

Ended up buying a Honda Pilot

Ford had crap cars
The telluride feels cheaper than previous models
The GMC 2500 HD Denali is a beautiful truck
Toyota is all in on electric/hybrid
The Maverick 17-HPXS at coastline is still the best boat in the whole show.

Traded my wife's Colorado in for an enclave with the first kid last summer. Very happy with it. The turbo 4 is very powerful not as fast as MIL's explorer ST but plenty. The turbo 4 is built on the same architecture as the turbo 4 that everyone loves in Silverado and Colorado so I'm happy with it.
