Howdy, got a new RAM 1500 yesterday. Trying to use my accent iPod with my music. Using the setup screen and select UBS 1, the port the IPod is plugged into. It will not recognize the iPod. The iPod is charged and shows playing. This thing worked Great in my old GMC. What is up, what do I not know, what can I check?

Thanks to anyone that may have ANY idea, the new electronics on these vehicles are KILLING us OLDS!!!!

Best move all your songs to your phone and use your phone. Though I don't know about apple. I'm an android user and never run into these problems.

it's not bad to keep it physical in spite of everyone else giving you crap about it.

if you want to keep your music physical without being beholden to the apple ecosystem, you will need to convert them from AAC to another format that you can load onto a usb drive.

Yeah, back in the day...like 2004. I'm guessing you're still using iTunes, so you'll need hook up your phone to the computer and move the library to your phone, or start living in the now and just pay for Apple Music.

Also, I don't believe the "I'm an old" thing. My dad is 71 and in tune with current technology because he never turned his nose up at it. He had the first iPhone when even I was wondering "why?" Things aren't as complicated as you think if you're willing to put in a little effort to learn. Once you understand the basics, everything gets much much easier.

There are 30 pin bluetooth transmitters out there as a last resort for getting the iPod connected to the audio system

As an OG podcast listener since 2006 I forgot how inconvenient it was that you didn't get new episodes unless you plugged into your computer to update on your iPod.

All these genius's on here ragging on you about "Whats an IPOD?' cause you're old......ain't nary a one caught the "choosing UBS 1 on the setup screen" comment. I guess they all are fine with their "UBS" stuff.....USB maybe not so much....buncha amateurs


Another old fart here

An AUX to bluetooth transmitter will get the job done. That's what I bring along for work trips because who knows what the rental may or may not do.

Totally understand why you use one - I modded my 5th gen with a 512GB SD card because the building I work in has lousy phone reception, and I don't want to pay every month for the ability to listen to music that I already have in 1 or 2 different formats already.
