How long do you want to ignore this user?
Would someone who knows the Texas rules for selling vs gifting a vehicle to a family member (parent to child) please help me understand that process so I do it the right way.

I read that I can pay a $10 gift fee for gifting the vehicle. But is is also legal to sell the vehicle to the child for $10 and pay the 6.25% tax on that "sale" or is there some provision for fair market value? Thanks for the assist.

If you sell it, the tax is on the fair market value which can be found here: https://www.txdmv.gov/standard-presumptive-calculator

If you gift it, it's a $10 fee.

You're really going to make it a sale to save $9.20

Beat me to it.

Just go down to the county office with your kid. Fill out the brief paperwork and give them $10 and move on. It's a really simple process.

I would look up the forms you need in advance. May save you a trip. Seems like 3 or 4 things needed. My Dad gifted me a vehicle years back. The DMV lady was amazed I had everything the first trip in. My Dad was out of State so there was some additional coordination.
