What is the highest mileage you would feel comfortable with in regards to buying a used Land Cruiser? What would be your upper limit? My BIL is considering buying a 2016 LC with 115,000 miles on it. He said it looks to be in good condition with just normal wear and tear. What would be a fair price range?

That mileage should be fine and the price depends some on the maintenance history.

I'd make sure that that radiator has been replace along with other items like AHC service.

Land Cruisers become collector cars so the upper limit is pretty much irrelevant. Plus the 3UR lasts forever. My friend has a 2007 Sequoia with 550k miles on it with the original power train. It's just a matter of your budget and the maintenance records.

Use cargurus to get a feel on price, but it looks like $40-50k for a 2015-2017 with <140k miles. Also look at the Lexus LX570 since it maybe cheaper.

I have a 2000 LX 470 with 300k on it, as long as the vehicle looks cared for, has good records, there probably isn't a mileage that bothers me. No matter the mileage stuff will start to fail just due to age, hoses, belts, etc, but that can all be fixed easily. In the 9 years I have owned it I have put 55K miles on it. I have replaced the radiator, starter, and power steering pump; all were original to the car. It doesn't burn or leak oil, or any other fluid. It is the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned, and I can't image in will sell it. The first year I owned it, I drove it 14 hours to a job site in Illinois and left it parked at the airport for 10 days at a time in the middle of winter; it fired up every time I got back to it.

115k is nothing as long as it has been taken care of. I bought a '97 with 280k miles for ~$22k a few years ago.

U.S. spec '16 LC 200 will have KDSS instead of AHC.

If I were buying a '16 LC200 at 115,000 miles, I would just make sure the undercarriage isn't rusty and that it hasn't been wrecked. After that, I would replace radiator, water pump, belts, alternator, battery, and all fluids. After that, I would have complete confidence to take that vehicle to the most remote parts of the earth for 125,000 miles with nothing beyond PM. If I weren't planning to take it to the middle of nowhere, I might just replace those items as they fail.

Be sure to change the coolant per maintenance schedule. The only real issue with these engines they're finding are head gaskets failing bc of old coolant.

You're right. I was thinking of my LX that I got with 175k miles. Valley leak is something to watch for as the miles go up.

My 98 has almost 250k miles. That 16 sounds barely broken in
