There is usually one sitting on Alba, just south of 34th in the mornings. Not sure what it's doing, but see it all the time on the way to work

I wouldn't get in one of those at all. I've seen and heard too many about them

Dont be shocked when you arrive a mile away from your destination or get stuck on the rail track. Those things are a menace in downtown.

Similar is hunger games. May the odds ever be in your favor.
Can't decide if I want to be cute & cuddly, or go blow some sh*t up.

Yea that's a big hell to the naw for me. I've seen all the videos and news reports on them. Hell one just almost got taken out by a train in Austin.

We are a test market in the Phoenix area and I've seen them darting in and out of traffic and seen one circling a parking lot. Not long ago one was riding the light rail track in Tempe and the guy had to jump out.

You may not want to hear it, but the inconvenient truth is that you're actually more likely to die or get seriously injured driving yourself or riding with another human driver than hopping onto a Waymo. Because Waymo has never directly killed or seriously injured anybody over a decade and millions of miles.

I've ridden in one a couple times in downtown Austin and it's honestly the safest Uber/taxi rides I've ever taken. Drove perfectly and didn't have any scary experiences. Those cars are taking in and processing more information about the environment around it than a human ever could.

I would rather a robot drive me around than someone who doesn't speak English or (like a previous Uber experience) the driver flying down the interstate at 90+, smoking a black and mild, while telling me "don't worry, I'm a race car driver. I'll get you there quick my boi." Waymo's are sweet.

Uh???

They were still testing them in Santa Monica and weren't taking passengers in 2022.
So... that's not quite a decade.

They really caught fire though during the LA protests last summer.

They have documented dozens of Waymos passing school buses while they were loading kids with the red lights flashing. They also have video of one of them blocking first responders trying to get to the recent terrorist attack on 6th street. Zero chance I would get in one of them.
