Anyone got a recommendation for a car insurance broker or company to use for insurance in Colorado. I use Lierre in Texas and didn't realize when you move states car insurance doesn't cross state lines.

thank you

When I moved from Austin to Denver, I was also shocked that State Farm in Texas had no interest in helping me switch to a policy with State Farm in Colorado. No referral or anything.

So, I switched to USAA and never looked back.

Get ready to have some sticker shock at the price of insurance in Colorado. Because of all the hail we get here the insurance rates are truly insane.

Assuming the cost of vehicle registration in Colorado doesn't kill him first.

I remember my jaw hitting the floor when the nice Colorado DMV lady slid a $600 registration bill across the counter for my 1 year old Expedition.

I said, it was $68 in Texas last year.

She said - I always wondered how my sister in Bryan could afford to have 2 Suburbans. Yeah, paying $1,000/yr less in registration would definitely help her make some payments.

Colorado gets plenty of hail, but Texas is routinely #1 in hail storms, hail damage, and insurance claims. Insurance ain't pretty here either
