Pretty much fully loaded new 2026 x5. I'm obsessed with it. It drives so well and is exactly the combo of sporty and luxury I wanted. I understand why BMW drivers have a reputation now! I was going to get a one year old CPO but they were doing 10% off msrp plus promo financing so it was actually cheaper to get a new one.

Side note has anyone done the BMW new owners track drive? Is it worth doing? Spartanburg or CA?

Love it! That B58 is such a great engine too. Congrats!

Gorgeous!

Question - how does it shift? Do you just toggle that switch by the iDrive knob?

yeah, that little chevron shaped handle to the left of the iDrive.

All track drives are worth it to the right person. If you're asking then you're probably the right person.

Thanks.

I finally opened up the picture on a computer, zoomed it and it makes sense.

Also, in my 7 Series, I use those buttons in front of the rotating knob all the time - Radio, Map, Vehicle Info, etc.

Does that mean you removed your turn signal indicator?

So far I haven't forgotten about the turn signal but the car definitely wants to go fast

I was a little skeptical originally and had been looking for CPO M60s to get the v8 but this engine and gearbox really are so good. I watched a ton of reviews before going to drive one and everybody calls it smooth which I didn't understand but I get it now. The mild hybrid system works so well with it too, you barely even feel when it shifts because it covers those gaps

They're fantastic and the combo of that engine and the zf transmission is pretty damn bulletproof. I'm thinking about an x5 or x6 when I get ready to move on to another ride

Sounds like the old ladies in my neighborhood that drive BMWs. Completely oblivious to everyone and everything around them. Always wondered if turn signals were optional on X3 and X5s.

Good looking vehicle.

RE: the New Owner Track Drive, I haven't done that but I did the one-day BMW Performance Driving School in Spartanburg with my dad and little brother a few years ago and it was fantastic, one of the best days ever. I posted the fastest lap in the class, no big deal. We all wound up with different Ms at one time or another afterwards (M5 for dad, M3 for me, M2 for brother).

Might be worth looking into trying to stack the New Owner day with one of the experiences they offer to really make the trip out there worth it.

Awesome thanks. It sounds like the new owner drive is only a few hours so I wouldn't mind pairing it with another course.

This was bmw west Houston for a car they had on the lot. But according to reddit and some bmw forums you can use a broker to get exactly what you want for 10% off msrp if you can't find one in stock somewhere. Since they're about to release a new model I think they're willing to move them. Some colors are already unavailable to order though.

How common are car purchase brokers? My BIL in NY used one for a Defender and I figured it was just common up there.
