2012 Silverado - I am getting some kind of slow fluid leak accumulating on the U-joint of the driveshaft. Dripping slowly onto the driveway. Pics in the link. The shop cleaned it up, ran it for 20 minutes on the lift, and saw nothing. Then I drove home and boom - leaking again. So it seems to occur when driving.

It has also only appeared recently, which corresponds to hot weather. No recent service on the vehicle other than to repair an AC line.

Any ideas?

Maybe a differential seal leak that is traveling along your drive shaft. I don't think the leak can be replicated if in park/neutral.

Looks like a little output shaft seal leak. Would not fool with it yet, personally.

Could you explain why?

Dab some on a white paper towel. Is it red and does it smell sweet? If so, transmission fluid and yes would be an output shaft seal.

Well, because trucks leak with time. And that kind of leak wouldn't bug me. But, if it's causing a mess and bothers you and you have the means or the money to have it fixed, then that is also fine.

Something like that just wouldn't be a priority. That's all. I think it's an output seal and it wouldn't take long for a shop to fix, just a money thing if you don't do it yourself.

I hate and despise leaks. I would have to fix it.
