Before the shots had discomfort in my lower back nothing major. After the shots excruciating pain when I move certain ways, laying down, standing up, sitting down and standing up from sitting, after I find comfortable position I'm good, walking I feel pressure in my lower back. Anybody ever had this happen to them?

My daughter had injections in her back June 6th. Physical therapy was not helping so injections were recommended. She's had the same outcome you've described for most of June. That pain is beginning to diminish but she's still in more pain than before the injections. Physician who recommended the injections says she needs injections in another location now.

She's seeing another physician a week from tomorrow for a second opinion. Hoping for a better outcome. She's in her early 30's.

I've been put through the ringer by doctors for lower back, hip, pelvis issues. Injections, shoe lifts, pain meds.

My advice, get a foam roller and find a great chiropractor. By chance are you in DFW?

If you are in DFW I would recommend seeing a PT, bad part she is NW of Ft. Worth but I still make the drive to see her. Friend of mine went to several doctors and specialist before seeing her. Friend drove over 4 hours one way to see her and they figured out the problem, ended up being a ruptured disc at the bottom of her spine that no one caught before even with MRI.

I'm a big fan of PT, and fully exhausting all options before surgical procedures.

I am curious though, how did the PT diagnose a ruptured disc that was missed on MRI?

Agree. That makes no sense.

I had epidural steroid injections on my L5-S1 disc due to a herniation after a month of PT did nothing. It took about 2 weeks for meaningful relief and about 6 weeks to resolve the majority of the pain. After 3-4 weeks I could do the elliptical and was finally able to start jogging again last week.

It was very small at the base of her spine, for a while her doctors thought she had something wrong somewhere in her lady parts system so they spent a while looking around that area. Got an MRI of her entire spine but they thought she had some nerve damage somewhere else that was causing pain lower on her spine.

I recommended her to one of my PT friends that specializes in pelvic floor issues and she basically ruled out anything in that area and told her to get an MRI that focused on the lower vertebrae. They ended up finding a ruptured disc, a few months later she is almost back to normal. I think it is more of a bad doctor that did not dig deep enough than a PT finding it.

I had injections twice in my lower back, 6 weeks apart. I didn't have increased pain afterwards, but the injections also did ZERO for the pain I already had.

Doctor wants to try something next that basically burns the nerves in your back. Can't think of what it's called. But I keep putting it off because I don't do well with the anesthesia at all.

It's called "ablation". My daughter received a second opinion for her back pain and ablation was recommended by the second doctor. She hasn't had it done yet but is considering it.

I asked pain doctor for MRI because of the severe pain for 2 weeks (and continuing) following back shots, I asked for "with" contrast and he said I didn't need with contrast. I read that if a pain doctor makes a mistake "with" contrast is only way to see the mistake
