I have nothing to add other than I know Huberman has a few episodes on gut health. They might be worth checking out.

For the most part, it'll just need to build back up naturally. Probiotics really haven't shown a ton of benefit in large trials for certain issues, but maybe a little evidence that it might help some people with antibiotic associated diarrhea.

So generic probiotics might be beneficial, but apparently quality varies a lot between different brands, how long they've been on the shelf, shipping methods, etc. That being said it doesn't hurt to eat lots of fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, saurkraut, kefir, etc.

Don't know if it's doing anything, but at the recommendation of my RD I've incorporated Greek yogurt nearly daily into my diet and have been taking a mens formulated probiotic (whatever that actually is) since my surgery and hospital stay in June,

My doc said to take both the supplement plus incorporate in diet during and after abx/surgery. I swap between the CVS brand of Culturelle and a women's probiotic. My latest grocery grabs include frozen yogurt ice cream bars and kombucha, and will head to H Mart tomorrow to grab a tub of kimchi.
