For the sake of learning to identify medical episodes in older folks, what is happening to Mitch here?

IANAN (I am not a neurologist), but that looks like either a TIA or an Absence seizure.
Translation: Something ain't right.

Would agree. Could throw complex migraine into the mix as well.

This isn't the first time it has happened either. In the middle of talking and then just sits there in silence until someone pulls him away.

Not to be harsh, but there's a reason most companies out there aren't being run by 80+ year olds....

I agree with TIA vs seizure. Another possibility is just hypotension episodes causing seizure type activity. It is pretty common for elderly to start having low blood pressure. I know in the most recent one he said he felt dizzy prior to the episode.

Average US life expectancy 77.28 years.

Mitch McConnell is 81 years old.

He's playing with house money at this point.

The "medical issue" appears to be that the system is overdue for shutdown and keeps trying to do so.

Pacemaker? He doesn't appear to be fainting.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

You can get pre-syncope without actually passing out and it can give odd neurological symptoms like these. Honestly he probably needs to be in an epilepsy monitoring unit for a bit to get an EEG tracing during the episodes to really figure out what is going on.

I like the fact that he's been hanging in there trying to keep the Progressives out no matter how bad he feels.
