How long do you want to ignore this user?
Have any of yall done a Life Line Screening or whole body scan, or similar that was not ordered by your doctor? There is one near my house at a convenient hour at an affordable price that I am considering, but don't have much confidence that it will result in anything except "you should probably go see a specialist". Does anyone ever get a diagnosis of a "nothing wrong", or will it always lead to "you need to go see a specialist" and it ends up being a waste of time and money because the first thing the specialist is going to do is order more tests.

On a similar note, does anyone come back from a sleep study that they don't recommend a Cpap machine?

I've done an AngioScreen (came back with zero issues) and something that I think was similar to a Life Line through Texas Mobile Imaging.

The mobile imaging included (among other things) an ultrasound of my thyroid, and it did detect a very very small nodule. They recommended following up with an endocrinologist, which I did. She commented that the ultrasound was not very good quality and sent me for a second one. That was a year ago, and I now I go for annual checks of my thyroid, with updated unreasoned every two years.

I'm BIG on preventative medicine, so I'm glad I had it done and am following up on it regularly. Better safe than sorry.

As a follow up to this, my doctor goes for regularly scheduled MRIs after a skin cancer diagnosis when she was very young. Her most recent MRI detected a small brain aneurysm. Within a couple of days, a neurologist did the procedure (outpatient) to treat it (stint in through the groin). What could have been a life threatening issue was resolved very quickly and easily. Makes me think this is the way to go, even if you have to pay out of pocket.

This got me thinking about the value of MRIs, even if you have to pay out of pocket.
