Garmin AMOLED screen while swimming

I recently upgraded from the 945 to the 965. Granted, it was a completely unnecessary upgrade as the 945 is still amazing, but I got sucked in by the screen on the 965. Regardless, has anyone else had issues in the pool with the AMOLED screen? Swimming is 80% (or more) of my workouts these days, so being able to use it swimming is a deal breaker for sure.

The issue: I mix up my workouts in the water pretty regularly with days of speed work, days of stroke work, but I sill have plenty of distance/pace work days with longer intervals. During those longer intervals, I like to glance at my wrist every 100 off a flip turn to check not only my yardage, but also to check if I'm staying on my 100 pace or if slowing or pushing. Every Garmin I've owned was easy to see, the 965 is terrible. I can't see it, not even a little, it's just a reflection of the sun.

Has anyone else had similar issues and/or found a solution? I really want to keep the 965, but if I can't use it for swimming, I'm gonna have to return it and stick with the 945.

May want to post this one over on Slowtwitch forums. Likely to get more feedback there.

Following as I'm thinking of the same upgrade this Christmas.
