Been thinking about it for a bit now. If anyone has successfully switched, what has been your experience?

I have gone down from three cups to one in the last month or so, but am thinking about trying to go straight decaf.

I feel like it exacerbates OCD and irritability at times. Just want to see what it's like without it.

If you went from 3 --> 1 surely you are almost there?

My dad went straight decaf towards the latter part of his career. He was a 3 or 4 cups per day guy. He said he never really struggled going to 100% decaf. Just phased it out over weeks. He was in no rush. He said part of that phasing was also getting use to the taste of decaf (he drinks black) and finding what he liked....

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could find good tasting k-cups. I drink a ton of coffee but could easily do without the caffeine. I just like the taste and the routine.

Why not use decaf and a filter?

Wife likes the keurig and it's too convenient if it's gonna be out on the counter anyway

A filter for the Keurig.

I exclusively use a Keurig but don't use k-cups. I put coffee in a filter designed for the Keurig.

I forgot about those things. I think we might even have some somewhere. I'll give them a try if I can find them.

nespresso half caf is better then regular coffee. So much more creamy.

That is only available for the Nespresso machines, though, right?

yes, but nespresso is a much better tasting coffee than anything k-cup. Imo.

I actually only do pour-overs. But the decaf beans just don't taste as good.

Caffeine definitely does those things. Kick it!

I kicked caffeine from coffee two or so years ago. I was drinking 2-3 cups a day and then cut down to 1-2. I should have gone down to half a cup before I got rid of it altogether.

Somewhere between day 10-14 I got the caffeine withdrawal migraine and it put me down for about six hours. Before that I had a few small headaches but that big migraine was terrible.

Hopefully that doesn't happen to you.
