Has anyone here ever had to have Parathyroid surgery and if so, who did you use? My wife is about to have to go through this and I'm researching surgeons that specialize in this procedure. TIA

I have not.

I do know that endocrine surgeons are a specific fellowship and that thyroid and parathyroid are their bread and butter, so I would not have it done by someone that wasn't a dedicated specialist.

My friend and med school classmate is one in Lexington and I would trust her, but I doubt you're in that area

Dr. Nathan Hales (San Antonio) did my parathyroidectomy...8 years ago? Maybe 10? Good experience.

Wouldn't be surprised if he posts somewhere on TexAgs...
