1 - I recently started taking an amino acid supplement despite the fact that I generally think supplements are wastes of money. Anyways, it has almost completely eliminated muscle soreness after workouts. Is this therefore negatively impacting the benefit of the workout?

2 - Is the concept of working out for spot fat reduction still a rejected idea? For example expecting to lose belly fat by doing lots of sit ups etc.

TIA

1. No. But assuming you're eating enough protein daily, it's probably not the amino acid supplement making you less sore. Your body is just adapting.

2. Yes. Still not possible.

I appreciate the feedback.

Maybe I am just different but I have been working out again for more than a year and just like before I stopped, or all my life really, I have always had a huge problem with muscle soreness after working out. But now after trying workouts with and without the supplement I can 100% say the amino acids reduce my soreness by 90% +

There are definitely worse things to take. It certainly shouldn't harm you. If it's working for you, awesome

The only way to get "spot reduction" of fat is to have a surgeon stick a sharp trocar in the place where you want the fat to go away and attach it to suction. Works, but probably hurts like hell. Also $$$$.
