Looks like this event is back. Didn't it go away for awhile? And wasn't it on campus? But do like open water swim at lake Bryan more than a pool swim.

This was the first tri I did and fell in love with it. I'm going to put this on my calendar. Looks like fun!

I saw this and am considering it as my first tri.

What's the swim like? Assume for 400m it's no wetsuit? (I don't own one).

Edit: Looks like they say it is wet suit legal.

it will be based on water temp at time of the race. And also, wet suit during a sprint will make T1 much longer thank necessary.

Yeah..that was my thought. 400m swim is a pretty dang short swim to get in/out of a wetsuit for.

An open water swim on March 3rd is a decision. They will be pushing the lower limit for water temp depending on the weather.

I have done every Aggieland tri up until now, may have to skip unless I get a wetsuit and change my training. Usually don't even get on the bike regularly until March.

Lake Bryan is a power of plant lake so water temp may be warmer than average

I don't know typical water temp for lake Bryan is at that time of year, but a typical lake would be pretty cold. Not sure I could tolerate that temp even for a short 400 m swim...may make a linger transition worth it even for a sprint.

I did this race way back in 2013ish. Loved swimming in the Natatorium just for the unique experience.
