Not 100% sure but negative CoVID test and mild fever. Feel like I did a titanic full body workout a couple of days ago. Achy and sore all over. And my stomach basically almost stopped digesting. A bit of sinuses.

After all these years it finally appears to have caught me.

So how long does this thing run and is there anything I can do to help it tin its course? Treat it like a bad cold? More rest and such?

Seems like a lot of RSV is going around right now. My parents have it and my wife is just now getting over it. Luckily I haven't came down with it (yet). We had to postpone Christmas with my side of the family until next Saturday because of it. You could have that.

I'm currently on day 2 of the flu. We took our 18 month to the hospital late on Friday night, where he was diagnosed with flu, rhinovirus, and croup. Since then, our entire family has it. The hospital doctors and the virtual visit doc I called both mentioned how this week has been insane for flu diagnoses.

For what it's worth, my day 2 feels alot better than day 1. My Garmin stress level all of day 1 averaged around 85, and today it's hovering in the 45 range. If I could rate how I feld on a scale of 1-10, yesterday was a 0, and today is like a 4. I started Tamiflu this morning, so we'll see what that does. I was chugging DayQuil all of day 1, because my headache was unreal and I had a nasty cough, but so far today, I just have a mild headache and a nasty, but less frequent, cough that I haven't taken any medicine for. My fever also seems to have subsided.

Good luck to you and your family, and hope you recover soon!

Picked daughter and her fianc from the airport on Friday. They came in from school. Daughter was showing signs on Friday night of being sick. Saturday morning she was running a temp of 103. By Sunday morning (today) she was completely fine. No more runny nose or cough. It lasted about 24 hours. I hope you have similar luck.

I had to start the month. Thought it was a bad cold, but ultimately it was the flu. Was okish the first couple days. But as soon as I spent a day running errands (thinking I was fine), all my energy disappeared and it took almost 2 weeks for me to fully recover. Main thing was feeling lethargic/zapped of energy. Went through a dizzy/nausea stage midway through while walking around or trying to sit at my desk and work from home.

Best thing I did was the good cold/flu was from behind the pharmacy counter for a few days then switched to an off the shelf mucinex cough suppressant , mucinx cough drops. Lots of chicken noodle soup, tons of water and would drink some Gatorade.

Just relaxed in bed and binge watched House. Don't try to do anything real active if you aren't feeling 100%. I tried after 10 days, and I felt absolutely like my energy tank was empty afterwards for a couple days.

Things looking up a bit. Turns out it may have just been a really hard hitting adenovirus type cold. The aches and fever broke in 24 hours, now so just fatigue and some crud and a bit of stomach ache and mild nausea, which apparently can occur with some cold viruses.

I got the shot. My wife didn't. She got sick for 2 weeks. I got nothing. Hope that was a good sign that the shot worked this year.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Not thee we flu, but probably a bad adenovirus that has attacked my GI. Couldn't digest anything I ate for about 72 hours or so, just bloated up with a cramping gut. Probably a lot like a bad case of IBS I imagine. I am sure I set some personal records in passing gas in the last couple of days, and that was with barely eating. Thankfully it is now subsiding.

Still lethargic and with some sinus congestion and residual mild nausea.

Ugh.

I picked up the flu this past week while on a ski vacation in UT. I was able to ski 2 out of 3 days. Started with drainage in my throat at night, became a slight headache the next day, then the following day had what I thought was a severe cold with runny nose, congestion but also had chills / slight fever. Following day I went to urgent care and tested positive to flu A. Got Tamiflu, next day I was 60 % improved with fever gone, runny nose gone, but still congested. I just forgot to get flu shot this year....
