AG
Mrs. Aggiebrad94 (class of '91) had 4 lymph nodes in her right arm / armpit removed several years ago as part of her kicking cancer's ass journey.

A few weeks ago, her right arm and hand swelled while in New York. It has not gone down since. We had MD Anderson do an MRI and there were no blood clots. She has had a professional lymphatic drainage massage, started home self massages, and has a compression arm sleeve. The swelling has still not gone down.

What next steps should we take if there are any?

Thank you in advance Texags

There are lymphedema specialists. Not sure if it falls under the purview of vascular surgery, but it might. If it continues to be and issue, would consider looking into a vein/vascular/lymphedema clinic. There's not a ton that can be done, as far as I'm aware to "fix" it. Prevention seems to be the key, but there is some debate as to whether or not you can really prevent it either.

Unfortunately I don't have any specific recommendations beyond seeking an expert
