GLP1 type meds have been Uber popular and are pretty expensive and scarce. I know because my doc prescribed Wegovy and I can't get it. I started looking into what Wegovy does and it basically helps create more GLP1, which aids in appetite suppression by making me feel full for a longer period.

I started looking up was to increase GLP1 production and found that L. Plantarum, L Gasseri, and a host of others do the same thing. And the results are improved when combined with resveratrol.

So I'm thinking rather than take meds, if I ate more saurkraut and kimchi and Greek yogurt and perhaps took a probiotic supplement, would that have a similar effect to the meds in a more natural way?

Anyone else use probiotics for weight loss?

Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro/Zepbound (tirzepatide) don't just create more GLP-1; they ARE GLP-1 agonists themselves. So unless these probiotics also exactly mimic the GLP-1 receptor, I don't see how they would even compare just on the basis of the idea alone.
