How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
A "friend" of mine is having male performance issues. Not sure exactly why. Testosterone maybe? Old age?

Anybody know or knows someone who's had these issues and if any medications worked? Viagra, Cialis, Levetra etc?

Are these medications prescribed or can they be bought on line?

TIA

They work.

From the Redd Foxx joke archive:

Disappointment: Realizing that for the first time, you can't do it the second time.

Panic: Realizing for the second time, you can't do it the first time.

So, I would recommend avoiding these online pill mill "men's health" pharmacies. At least initially. In my opinion it's worth it to go to a real doctor and actually get evaluated for ED.

ED can by a canary in the coal mine for other diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, hormone disruptions, stress/anxiety/depression, etc. All the prescription PDE5 inhibitors will work. And if you're young and healthy and just need a boost, you're fine. But if you're older and it's starting, then you probably should figure out why. Just getting the pills may restore performance, but won't help you get over the underlying etiology.

Also, I'd try to add also this: dont get married.

Unless you are absolutely exhausted by sex, then, in your case: Get married.

He's right.

Tell your friend to get bloodwork done showing estradiol, total testosterone, SHBG and free testosterone.

Also what age range are we talking about here? If test is below 400 or so, you might look into TRT. I had a "friend" who was around 300 test and is now consistently at 800-900. That and a little Cialis and you'll be chasing the wife around the house all day even at age 50+. If you are past child siring days, you don't have to worry about fertility issues. You can still take other drugs to keep you fertile if you need to do that.

My friend's doc initially wanted to insert dissolving pellets under the skin, but injections are easy and you can increase/decrease dosage immediately based on future lab results. Plus the pellets start out high test and then gradually get weak over time. Twice a week injections works best to keep the levels at baseline based on the half life of Test E or Test C. A men's clinic that specializes in this is best. It really is a balancing act for all the markers above. If your estradiol is too/high or low, that can affect it too. There are meds such as aromatase that can bring estradiol down, but be careful with that -- too much can cause estradiol to crash and that's no Bueno. You need that too. There are also creams and what not, but my "friend" likes the injections for control and gets frequent blood tests.

If your test is low, there is a good book out by Jay Campbell. TRT gets a bad rap by dudes who are juicing at stupid high levels. Don't do that.

No. You can have vascular disease anywhere in the body. Some people have heart attacks but never have strokes, and some people have strokes but never heart attacks. And some people get ED but neither stroke or heart attack. Multiple things can be at play.

Medicine isn't as simple as people like to think it is.

I know...

My chest has been hurting lately and I've been putting it off. I'm in good shape. like broken by old injuries but can still compete with decent level crossfitters.. Just 3 days a week with 2 go thru the motion days instead of 6 days a week like a few years ago. but this happened a year ago and after 2 weeks I went ot the ER and they ran a bunch of tests and said my heart was fine. Maybe anxiety.

I can feel it again the past month... it's not pain, it's just something I notice. Like a slight twinge

Kind of joking/wishful thinking that the "my unit works so the heart aint the issue"

Going to an MD is easier nowadays. No questions asked. The online companies are subscription-based, so you have to deal with that plus you have to wait to receive it in the mail.

Huberman had a good podcast about the topic and one of the points was use it or lose it so you're better off not waiting.

I am 58 years old. I have had ED problems the last 15 years or so. I had good results with Viagra and Cialis for a good while. The last couple of years or so both have stopped working effectively for me though.

My urologist suggested Trimex. At first that did not appeal to me, you give yourself an injection. After a few more months of losing confidence, I agreed to give it a try. It was like a miracle drug. It has been "game on" ever since. I regretted not trying it sooner.
