Our son is anchoring his TIR team. We have several family members who would like to go and cheer him on, but not sure the best places to park for the beginning (Memorial Park) and finish (Downtown). Any advice greatly appreciated!

There is lots of parking in Memorial Park, but there isn't a ton that is right by the handoff to the last leg. If it were me, I would:

1) Park on the street (free) on W Memorial Loop north of Memorial Drive and then walk over the land bridge to the handoff spot. https://maps.app.goo.gl/4JH8XcDeQ9GhZiDD7?g_st=ic

2) Park in the new running center lots (paid) south of Memorial Drive and then walk to the handoff. https://maps.app.goo.gl/LGDRXWgLwDNgi8VN7?g_st=ic

I am not certain about the finish as I haven't been over in that area in forever. I remember there being a good bit of street parking in the area, but someone else may need to confirm/deny.

22 runners? My son's team had 11. He got to run 24.2 miles. They had an 87 YO on their team.

Talked to a few of those young Ags at the exchanges. They were having fun, we were just trying to get through it. The energy of youth is a definite plus in this kind of event. This was my 4th TIR, seem to be more young runners every year. Maybe it's just because we're a bunch of old farts.

My daughter away at college was confused as to why her sophomore brother was texting the family group chat about running through bluebonnet at 3 a.m. We told her that we released him back to the wild.
