Mrs. Aggiebrad94 - class of '91 is currently kicking cancer's a@$. She's been in partial remission for nearly 3 years. We've been cruising along with good scan results all that time - nothing new and nothing grew.
However, the blood work the last two times has started to become troubling.
After being in the low 40's for years, the CA 15-3 (tumor marker) rose to 180 in January and 540 this week.
The liver enzymes are also significantly higher than normal.
Something is going on and I'd like to enlist the power of texags to help. She'll be having weekly blood draws for the next few weeks, a liver ultrasound and they (MD-Anderson) will set up a meet with a Hepatologist. MDA asked that we stop using all of the supplements we've been using for the past 4 years (which I believe is one of the key reasons she's done so well).
Any advice or anyone have any experience with a spiking liver enzyme during chemo?
