Hey y'all!

My son is 10 and currently in 4th grade. Basketball is his main sport and it's all he has ever wanted to play. This weekend he mentioned that he wants to try baseball.

I haven't played baseball since probably his age so I don't know it like I do basketball

Can anyone recommend a league that isn't very intense for 10/11 year olds? With him never playing before I don't want to put him into an intense league.

Thanks!

We live north central just south of the domain. So nothing far south.

not to be negative but just make sure your expectations are where they should be.

baseball of all the sports takes so much repetition and the way people play way too much baseball these days...i would say its going to be very, very hard to be good enough to make a high school team even starting at 10 years old. Which is sad to say. Unless he is an absolute freak athlete.

If he is just wanting to play and have fun...thats great.

I hate what baseball has become. There are just too many parents willing to dedicate their lives to it from 6 years old and on. Kids are too good to start that late...which wasnt the case when we were kids.

I get that. I don't think he will want to take it very far. He is really good at basketball and plays at a high level. I understand the climate in sports today.
