I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension about 5 years ago. My ophthalmologist was emphatic that I did not have a glaucoma diagnosis. He prescribed once a day prescription eye drops to control my eye pressure. I have an eye exam every 6 months to monitor my eye pressure. The drops have been successful in keeping my eye pressure below 25.
I recently changed ophthalmologist to have one closer to home and avoid the 30 mile traffic filled trek from western Williamson county into Austin. New ophthalmologist asked if I had considered SLT. My eye pressure at my most recent visit was 25.
I wasn't aware of SLT. He told me to research it and we could discuss at my next visit in 6 months. I've reviewed SLT on the internet. Seems routine and successful.
Anyone here have this procedure done? Would appreciate any of you physicians chiming in too.
Thanks!
