Does anyone have experience with SCS? I'm 23 years post surgery for a multi-level anterior lumbar fusion (ALIF) of L4/L5/S1 and am having pain from the L3/L4 vertebrae that is taking the extra flexion. I REALLY don't want to stack on another level to the fusion and have heard that SCS might be of benefit.

Anyone able to share their experience?

Thanks in advance!

I have moderate to severe stenosis. I've had a multi level laminectomy in cervical and lumbar. I've had a lumbar stim for 10 years. Been a huge blessing for pain. I like it because I don't have to charge it. I had a cervical stim put in 2 years ago. It's helped a ton, but I have to charge it every week.

Thanks for the reply DG.

I had a Myelogram a few weeks back and just had another MRI and will be visiting with my neuro doc re: options for a possible referral to a pain doc.

I think the biggest question will be if my pain from the adjacent segment disease near my multi-level fusion is even going to qualify to be able to be helped by SCS.

You should qualify. That is technically Failed Back Surgery Syndrome and it's the #1 indications for SCS.
