Age 65. Good health otherwise.

Had prostate removed at MD Anderson July 2025.

PSA showed recurrence May 8 of 0.22.

Starting radiation for 38 sessions + Orgovyx ADT for 6 mos starting June 5 or so.

From anyone with similar path…

What can I expect?

What can I do to minimize side effects?

Diet secrets? What to eat- or not?

Exercise? Currently weight training 3x per week, walk 2-3x.

Thanks and Gig 'em!

Nearing 70 years old. Decent health.

My prostate was removed at Seton Medical Center, Austin TX two days before Thanksgiving in 2024.

I went through 39 sessions of radiation treatment during the summer of 2025 as a preventative measure.

My testosterone recently tested at 163 NG/DL. (300 to 720 considered normal). Oncologist and Surgeon do not recommend the use of medication to raise it.

I am scheduled for a blood test on June 8 with a follow up with my surgeon on June 15 to go over the results. So far everything has gone well.

I obviously cannot provide any thoughts pertaining to medications, but can provide what I experienced during radiation therapy. Main issue was to make sure bladder was full at the same time they did treatment. A very small amount of irritation from therapy. Drove myself to and from treatments, no issues. Treatment took approximately 10 or so seconds of radiation. Also... recommended no alcohol which I abstained from during those eight weeks. Therapy was at the same time of day Monday thru Friday. No treatment on holidays. Think I still have the small dots which were used to aim radiation. Guess I have tattoos after all.

I hope that your treatment is successful. Take care.
