Hello all,

This shut-down and future trends has brought about some re-evaluations and I wanted to pick some brains on the idea. There are some colleagues that keep suggesting I do podcasts, but I don't think I have the voice for it and tend to lose the thread in details. However, I do think there is nothing wrong with keying and writing.

So my question is -- would it make sense to just start posting historical items and topics of interest? I want to pass on things and inspire learning and digging, but it can't be too rigid a format as it must be as my other projects allow. One of the reasons never really blogged is you know the saying "gotta keep putting up new content" ---- but then it hit me--posting in a place that will stay there whether you post or not, solves this.

Would there be any interest or draw to such an approach?

Posting here? If so, absolutely I think you should.

I've started copying and saving a lot of my longer posts here to incorporate later in some projects I'm working on. That's more in the context of politics, but the back and forth discussions help generate some good / interesting ideas.

I started a blog a year ago, but bashed out like a few thousand words the first day and then never went back to it. I meant for that to be a place to keep all my one-off essays, book notes/reviews, and so on.

But, I don't have the interest in outreaching to bootstrap a community (or a guarantee that any kind of community would show up) or committing to delivering content on a regular basis, and the demands of my job make it impractical at times. I don't mind working electronically when there is a back-and-forth, but when I'm really just talking to myself I much prefer working with pen and paper.

I am always looking for something new either from a historical or a geopolitical viewpoint. Have found though with the shutdown there seem to be more podcasts and if they are not succinct in their presentation I turn them off.
