Just starting the book above by Rear Admiral Eugene Fluckey, winner of 4 Navy Crosses and the Medal of Honor. He is responsible for the only land invasion on the home islands of Japan!
Anyone familiar with his story? Sounds like it will be an interesting read. Also, he was a Eagle Scout and the crew he picked for the land invasion to blow up the railroad tracks had to be scouts also. He figured they could find their way back to the sub.

I read it a few years back and recall it being a good book. He had some interesting war patrols.

Good book. Fluckey was an amazing guy and an outstanding sub skipper.
