This morning while reading Dolph Briscoe's Wikipedia it led me to John Nance Garners and then his split with FDR and run for the Democratic nomination in 40. I didn't realize that FDR had been telling people he wasn't going to run and then engineered a floor nomination at the convention. Anyone have anything they can add in the topic beyond what Wikipedia shared?
