Enjoyed reading the pdf. Noticed where Allan Ashcraft was referenced. One of the best history profs/lecturers I remember from my days at Aggieland.

Ashcraft was an excellent orator when delivering his stories that could literally bring soft tears, His CW classes were outstanding.

He told his stories like he personally knew the person he was talking about. The best class I took at A&M. The only professor who I can remember their name.

I took every class Dr. Ashcraft taught. His wife owned some farm land near my hometown and he brought the local paper to me every Monday morning. When he died, his daughter came to me to do the legal work on his property here. Wonderful family.. I wrote papers in his classes on J.E.B. Stuart and John Pelham.

wasn't Dr. Ashcraft's great-grandfather Dr. Thomas Coleman one of the physicians/surgeons to Gen. Stonewall Jackson
