As the creator, Taylor Sheridan stated, its written like a novel and shot like a novel.

I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Wife got me Paramount Plus for Valentines Day just so I could watch it.
Filming locations are absolutely gorgeous. Lots of them in Texas. There are little weird things make you go "hmmm" in regards to historical accuracy. The acting is magnificent. My wife has fallen in love with Sam Elliott. One of best performances.

I like it too. It is well-written and beautifully shot. The production supposedly cost $10 million per episode. Crazy.

I find myself getting weepy almost every episode. Mostly because it reminds me how hard/deadly the pioneer life was, and what horrible p**s**s we have become in the modern world.

Eight episodes have dropped so far. I believe there will be 10 total in Season 1. It streams on Paramount+.

It's very good!! As said, if your going into it as "entertainment" then it's awesome......if you are looking for historical accuracy, then that's another story. It's not John Wayne Alamo inaccurate, but certainly has MANY historical issues. The young lady Elsa certainly steals the show in my opinion. (And I have to admit, McGraw and especially his wife, Faith....have exceeded expectations!)

Would like to see the other episodes, but I won't add another streaming subscription.

Great show but I wouldn't put much more historical accuracy to it than Tombstone. Also, while it is terrifically written Elsa's fake (southern) accent drives me a bit nuts.

Taylor Sheridan is a very gifted storyteller and is a very busy guy with 1883, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, and future for the new 6666 Series ( Taylor and the other Producers just purchased the famous Texas 6666 Ranch ). Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliot are great in 1883. The next season of Yellowstone is scheduled for this Fall. Season 2 of 1883 has no schedule yet. Taylor also wrote and directed the movie " Wind River " about the actual Wind River Reservation in Wyoming which I recommend.

I enjoyed Yellowstone (while this past season was a bit disappointing), but 1883 blows it away and probably Sheridan's finest piece of work.

When they were filming between borger and panhandle on the 6666, they were reported to have 500 hotel rooms booked in the surrounding towns. Shocked at the money and people needed to make a TV show.

It's my understanding there will be no season two of 1883. There will be a follow on series that takes place in 1923 (I think that is the time frame). I read an article where the producer was interviewed and that is what he said.

Correct. There will not be another season of 1883, but there will be additional content from that time frame, but they have not said what that will be.
