My 8yo son found this yesterday at Landa Park in New Braunfels and is wearing me out about what it is. He's convinced it's an interesting artifact.

It seems to be cast iron, looks complete(not broken on any edges). About 2" in length, 1/4" thick.

I've not seen anything like it and google is no help so I told him that if anyone knew it would be texags. Google image search just gives me gingerbread man cookies.

TIA

Kinda looks like a Star Trek communicator badge</nerd>

But my guess would be that it broke off a trailer or a grill as mentioned above.

Figured it was something fairly innocuous. I'm going to have to come up with a cool story before he gets home from school.

Indian war club topper or maybe pioneer livestock brand of some sort.

Thanks guys.

First ever Texas Lone Star design bling worn by Sam Houston into all his battles. Chain bracket must have rusted off, because Sam use to wear it with a heavy gold chain outside his uniform. Kid can now take it to show and tell at school.
