Just finishing the 2 part volume of this title. Recaps from normal field solders and one pilot being interview in 1944 and 1954. Very interesting take from them about how they were defending France and that the US and England were under the control of Russia. Also, one stated that the biggest mistake that Hitler made was declaring war on the US. He thought that the US would stay out of it and just fight Japan.

Ready them for free through Kindle Prime.

I read this and it is very interesting. But of course, all German accounts written after the war are...sanitized. If you want a really good read, try this book:

Soldaten: On Fighting, Killing, and Dying

It's transcriptions from secretly-recorded POW accounts that the British made by using hidden microphones in cells of captured prisoners. In those accounts, they are more open because they're generally unaware of being recorded. More admitting of atrocities there.

Wanted to find a D-day post and this is best I could do. Here is a report thru American eyes: grisly stuff.

That's how the Canadians nabbed Kurt Meyer, Commander of he 12th SS. They had it in for the Hitlerjugend for killing Canadian POWs at Ardenne Abbey on 7 June 1944
