I enjoyed the movie so I found a copy of "American Prometheus" on which the movie is based. I highly recommend it. The movie barely scratches the surface of this incredibly complex man. If anyone thinks his genius was confined to theoretical physics, this book will have a lot of surprises.
It's also a good look at how McCarthyism of the early 50s played out. And the incredible corruption in the FBI and AEC as they prosecuted him. When I watched the movie I thought the portrayal of Lewis Strauss had to be a caricature of a petty, vindictive little man. But the book actually made him look even worse.
Anyone else read it yet?
