If you could see one thing from history, as it happened what would it be?

I've often thought about this, some of the ones at the top of my list:
The massive herds of bison on the American Frontier.
The Crucifixion.
The 1st Crusade taking Jerusalem.
Hannibal's elephants in action.
Roman legions in action against the barbarians in Gaul.
Building/completion of the pyramids.
American victory at Yorktown.

Not sure I could pick just one.

  • The last few weeks of the life of Oetzi
  • The Tower of Babel and the migration routes of the peoples from it.
  • The Flood and/or Noah's disembarkation from the Ark
  • The Israelites' crossing of the Red/Reed Sea
  • The Battle of Troy
  • The conquest of Jericho by the Israelites
  • The first entry of humans into Africa, Europe, China, South America, and North America
  • A week in the court of Charlemagne, including being able to understand the language(s) spoken
  • Not an event, but being able to witness in detail and understand the financial aspects of the Rothschilds' meteoric rise to spectacular wealth in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

I'm sure that there are a bunch more if I thought about it longer.

When the truth comes out, do not ask me how I knew.
Ask yourself why you did not.

1. Taken part in the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Would have seen the norther Bison herd in their spring migration crossing the Missouri River. Also seen every Grizzly Bear on the northern plains as they dined on the drowned Bison.

2. Watched the Army of Northern Virginia March by on the way to Sharpsburg as well as the Army of the Potomac March by anywhere…

3. Attend the first Rendezvous on the Green River.

4. Travel the Camino Real across Texas during its hay day.

5. Watch a 1,000 plane raid form up from the coast of England.

6. Watch a B-29 raid form up on Tinian.

This is a good one and probably my choice.

1. Watch the debate and eventual ratification of the Declaration of Independence.
2. Watch the vote HoR vote for the 13th Amendment.
3. VJ Day in New York City.
4. Lee surrendering his army.
5. The battle of Agincourt.

Even though it was small and of little historic consequence to anyone but me and my sister, I would most like to see my mother and father's wedding.
