Was heading up 35 between Ft Worth and Denton today to go get some BBQ. Look up and over to my right a little and see a B52 in a hard bank turning left and start smoking heading east. Wish I could have gotten a pic. Have not seen one around here since Carswell became a joint reserve base

They fly one in/out of carswell maybe every other year. Not real common, unfortunately.

I saw one over Plano when I was out looking at the eclipse. Must have been the same plane.

There was a B52 at the Wings over Houston air show back on that weekend 10/14. Not sure if it's the same one. Did one real low pass and I didn't see it circle back and land.

When I was in South Korea in October, we sent one over, and Fat boy up north went ape**** warning of World War III. They still instill fear.

This is so old it isn't even funny but in 1974 I was in a tank battalion at Ft Hood and was a rated aviator needing hours so I got myself an OH-58 and flew around for about 3-4 hours. Was cruising along about 2500' VFR when a huge shadow passed under me, then a B-52 flying at about 1000' AGL. Right under me. No radio traffic, nothing. Scared the crap out of me. Kind of cool though once I thought about it. Side note, I got to watch more than a few Arc Lights in Vietnam, some close enough to make me nervous. Pretty dang amazing. The results of one at Kham Duc SF camp are below, a USAF pilot got the MoH for landing there and rescuing the remnants of an SF team.

Last time I recall seeing a BUFF was the flyover out of Barksdale, Louisiana prior to the Independence Bowl with Sherman's Aggies against UGA. It was quite a sight, where she flew low over the stadium spewing all that exhaust then banked to the south.

My last sighting in the air that i remember vividly was Sep 14, 2001 driving I20 on my way home from ATL

They were taking hide one after the other from Barksdale

I was listening to the news the whole drive and talk radio was discussing flight restrictions and the fear of terrorists using crop dusters - just as 3 flew over somewhere in MS. Guess they didn't get the email

I was the Chief of Current Operations for Eighth Air Force from 2007-2010 and lived in Bossier City so saw them all the time. But I was always awed when I'd see them setting up to enter the pattern and pass over/by my house low and flying in and out of cloud cover.

All reminded me of some prehistoric flying creature or one of those old Japanese monster movies with Rodan flying in and out of the clouds...lol
