German pilot from WWII gets to fly in a spitfire. He's 103 years old and has 81 confirmed kills on the eastern front. Old guy is getting around really well. Got his pilot's license in '36. His eyes brightening at lift off and looks to become very aware of all the surroundings one they are up. Really unique video.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

One of the greatest gifts we ever gave my dad was a flight on the Confederate Air Force B-24. They never let people "up front", but they let my dad go sit in the bombardier spot in the very front. His name is on a bomb bay door.

I thought this was going to be about Gerhard Barkhorn, a Luftwaffe pilot with 301 kills. After the war he flew with the West German Air Force. In 1965 he was training with the RAF and crashed one of their planes and according to legend as he climbed out of the cockpit he said "drei hundert und zwei".

Thought the same thing. You could see the excitement and then the turn into serious intensity and then you see the memories come. His face told a whole life's worth of emotions in a few moments

Every time they went up they never expected to come back and lost LOTS of friends. The sound of that engine and the noise of plane moving through the air triggers very strong memories.
