At 10:14, you can see General Rudder in the audience. The woman in red next to him is his wife, Margaret.

Nice find.

I like that they talk about air conditioning twice.

It was 7 years before I got there (6 before I first visited) but it looks mostly like the place I went to. Two things that struck me:

1. Every guy in the corps isn't decorated like a Mexican general and

2. The students don't look like they are starting the limbo when they sing "sounds like hell!"

Good times.

Was my fish year. In addition to everyone in the Corps not decorated like a Mexican general, neither was everyone in the military. Enrollment was 12,000

I lived at A&M 4 1/2 years and never had AC. Lived 4 years in Law and 1 semester in Hart.

Great find.

Found the 1966 Batt article on the film:
https://newspaper.library.tamu.edu/lccn/sn84009780/1966-03-01/ed-1/seq-4/

Says it was commissioned by the school's department of publications, to be shown to high school audiences.

That was a nice find. I was born in the sixties, so was still many years from even knowing what Texas A&M was let alone enrolling there (started in 85). But there was a lot of imagery in there that looked pretty much like I remembered campus circa 1985. I was amused about the project to build an expanded library, clearly referring to Sterling C Evans Library, in that I've never known the campus without it but while a student there could clearly define where the new library started and the older one (the one I always described to akin to the corridors of the Nostromo in the Alien movie) ended.

I grew up in B/CS and this is the A&M from my early childhood. Dad taught journalism from 1965 - 1987. Back then, there was no old Zachry, no O&M building, no Commons, no new water tower, no Evans Library, and no West Campus. Only 12,000 students, no long hair and very few women.

No, this isn't Sterling C. Evans. If you look at the library, it's basically 3 parts: the old Cushing Library, Evans Library, built in 1979, and then squeezed between the two a sort of unmatched building linking them. It's THIS that they're referring to. They basically added on to the old library and then a decade later did Evans.
