Jimbo was going to ensure that would not happen. During the 5-7 season, I have no doubt his agent talked to him telling him to not make any mistakes in that area. At the end of that season was when he started talking about him following the transfer portal rules to the letter.

No. They're is nothing in the contract that we could do that about the buyout. We're 12 days, hell the first payment is due in 8 days... And people are still asking this. NO.
That original contact, which the extension was based on, was written by Scott Woodard to lure Jimbo away from FSU. Even at the extension, that was based on the original document. No one was going to be able to change it.

"Cause" isn't " 'Cause we thought you were good at coaching football and now we think you suck." 'Cause Jimbo had a lawyer and an agent, and 'cause both would be smart enough to figure out that no one would ever pay a buyout if being pissed about bad records was cause.

No we weren't. Unless he has a complete and total attitude adjustment, Fisher will never have success as a HC again. Refusal to change what you're doing despite an overwhelming abundance of evidence showing you that it isn't working is a recipe for disaster.
Jimbo didn't learn anything here other than how to cash large checks. Craig is probably the only coach that wants to work with him.

Should have promoted him to chief recruiting executive and kept him on staff….just not as head coach
If we had let him walk to LSU 3 years ago he would have recruited a lot of players there, perhaps even fared better and we would be forever complaining about what could have been.
