The sips look rather appropriately rated.
We haven't exactly been impressive either. But yes, the SEC looks pretty average after the top two or three teams.

Texas is pretty decent. But lets face it, they'll choke and even if not, there is a ZERO % chance we let them leave Kyle Field with a W.
I don't see any team that doesn't stress Ewers out in the pocket having success. I think you have to sell out and hit him early and often. Otherwise he'll pick you apart.
Georgia, Ole Miss, and yes, Texas (sadly), all look like they could win the NC.
Missouri has taken care of business and looks good, but they'll likely play as they usually do and come up short against elite teams.
Oklahoma is a mystery. There's a lot of talent on that roster but we don't know if Venables is a good HC.
Alabama looks like ass against South Florida. I think moving from a defense first to offense first team is going to take some time. Their coach will likely have to adjust to the vastly different play style of the SEC too.
Arkansas isn't winning it all, but they're good enough to play spoiler. They posted the ultimate "how TF did they lose this game?" box score against Oklahoma State today. Outgained then by nearly 300 yards, averaged almost 2 more yards per play, converted 12/19 3rd downs (OSU only converted 5/16), and had 13 minutes more TOP. Penalties were roughly equal. 3 turnovers to 1, but -2 isn't THAT bad when you absolutely dominate all the other statistics like that. Seriously, how TF did they lose that game??

"SEC is down this year" is an annual misconception on Texags.
It's early . Discuss at end of September . There are some teama that will improve as the season progresses and several haven't been really tested yet.

I think the fact that 7 of the SEC teams are in the AP top 15 probably makes the conference overrated more so than a few close calls.
As far as bad losses the ACC (Clemson, FSU), Big 10 (Michigan), and Notre Dame have impugned their conferences or Indy self far worse than anything the 7 SEC teams in the Top 15 have done. Oregon and PSU had a couple of stinkers so far too.

They certainly got an affirmative-action SEC schedule for their woke goofy selves. I'd say the question is do they finish with 1, 2, or 3 losses. Ewers gets super shaky under pressure, and their pass concepts aren't some elaborate scheme. Just takes good schematic defense like Washington, Iowa State, Oklahoma did to them last year. Hard to say how Ewers is under pressure in 2024. We've seen him make bad decisions in the past but this year, in 2 easy wins, he's been willing to bury a pass into the turf to avoid making a mistake. The question will be if he can continue that discipline when the game is on the line.
Real test for Ewers and rest of tu will be Georgia. They walked into neyland last yr and did not bat an eye after tenn broke decibel record on breakaway TD to start game. Proceeded to sledgehammer them and empty stadium at halftime. They will have same mentality at DKR. We will see if sips can compete at that level

Auburn losing is not that big a deal. They lost to New Mexico State late in the year last year.

Pure delusion. If you watched the tu game vs. Michigan, you saw an elite program with a true team culture and discipline - they dominated in all areas of the game. Hating on them won't change that.
