It sure looked like the defensive player tried to get that tackle done in a harmful way.

Bruh, it's a CB tackling a big back. Had he tried to tackle him like we tried to tackle the SC Qb, Moss woulda housed it. Do you even football bro?

I can't get in their player's head to know what his intent was, but it did not look like a cheap shot to me.

Literally the only way to take down a guy like Moss with a full head of steam is going for the legs

Eh. I disagree here. Could've stayed high and pushed him Ob easily. If tackles like this (diving at knee level from the side) were a common thing in CFB/NFL, there would be a lot more careers cut early.

Do I think it was intentional? no. Do I think it was poor fundamentals and laziness (head down and diving instead of staying on your feet) that ultimately led to the Moss injury? Yes.

Or he could have wound up getting trucked by a power runner like when the SC QB squared up with our db that one play for the first down and ran him over for the first. I don't knock the db on this play at all. It was the smart play, tragic ending for our guy, but not dirty at all.

Those are different scenarios. Their QB was 5 yards from the sideline and Moss was tight roping it. Moss ended up out of bounds after the hit. You stay high, Moss still ends up out of bounds. Go look at what happened to Nick Chubb last year (our maybe it was the year before?), every commentator agrees it was a dirty hit and it was the EXACT same style of tackle.

Not at all. Looked like the best way to get him down, otherwise Moss would've plowed right through him.

Just like Turner's roughing the passer when he sacked the QB by tackling him the only way he could. Should've been a no call.

Dude should have just raised his hand and tell Moss you are down. That way no one ever gets hurt.

No it was not a cheap shot or a dirty hit

I even had to listen to one of our former players cry on Texags radio earlier this week how it was dirty .. no it was not .

Moss is always looking to punish defenders. If he recovers from this injury and gets back to the level he was, I think he will reconsider that. The goal is to get to the NFL and play for as long as you can.

No. And Moss should have gone out of bounds and would have avoided the injury all together.

If A&M had tried to tackle the SC quarterback like that they'd probably have had a sack.

Not a cheap shot at all. That kind of tackle on a rb is commonplace

Go low to make sure the much bigger, more powerful player with a head of steam goes down

I don't understand how this defender can hit Moss in the knee but when Shemar Turners hits their QB in the knee, it is a penalty.

Rules to protect the QB, can't go low on the QB. However, take away the targeting BS and maybe that guy tackles Moss a higher up.

Moss went low, the defender went lower. There was nothing more he could have done. This is football. Hate that Moss got injured. Like I said, he should have just ducked out of bounds and we wouldn't be having this conversation unfortunately.

The most basic tackle known to man. Only someone who didn't play football would suggest that's not a normal tackle. Lol

It's a perfectly fine hit.

The way you know it is perfectly fine is because if Moss had popped up, literally NOBODY would complain about it.

This is a hit that happens a handful of times per week on guys near the sideline.

Just because there was an injury that could have been avoided with a different tackling approach doesn't mean it was a bad or dirty hit.

I'd argue Elko deserves some blame for that injury. It's obviously another thing he didn't prepare his player for. Step out of bounds to avoid an unnecessary hit.

Yep. Out of bounds or a hurdle and he's fine.

This is a bang bang play and they happen in football all the time.

It was not a cheap shot. No matter how many wanted it to be. The sane thing happened to Daniels in that 4th down play where he didn't make it, guy dove right at or below his knees. Lowest man usually wins.

Didn't look like a cheap shot to me at all. Those saying Moss should have stepped oob, disagree. His game is to wear the defense out . Cut into the middle of the field about 5 yards upfield perhaps but then 90 probably waylays him
