Wife just presented tickets to the game this AM. How bad do they act toward us? I have only attended games in Kyle Field and only seen ONE away game at LaTech in my life. I don't count the Sofa bowl with TCU as away. Please advise.

Are you in the Aggie section?

If so, the game will be fine. Going towards the stadium you'll be reminded what clowns they are. After the game their behavior will be dependent on the outcome. If sips win, you'll be cringed by their behavior.

Been to quite a few games and sat in different parts of the stadium, even helped my nephew's youth group sell sodas one year as a fundraiser while wearing an A&M cap. My family has always talked more smack than the regular fans.

Have fun and be loud!

The last two games in Austin were so long ago that I was in school for one of them. I went to games in 2008 and 2010 and had no issues either time. In 2008 I was with a group of tu friends and spent time tail gaiting and sat in their student section. I was occasionally heckled and called Aggie but the game was a blow out loss. In 2010 I sat in a general seating area with mixed fans from both schools and it was fine. A lot has changed since then in Austin but their alumni and fans are not the hostile type. You will be fine, enjoy the Aggie victory!

I've always said sips are good losers, terrible winners.

Just remember, the only thing worse than a winning sip is a losing sip!

I've never had a problem there, but they have idiot fans just like anyone else. Don't engage and escalate situations with the (most likely) uneducated component of their fan base. If they lose, it will be because they suck and they'll let you know it. Otherwise, enjoy... try not to throw up from all of the puke orange.

Be prepared to hear A g g y - about as dumb as us calling them sips, but it's all in good fun.

Only been to one game there in 2010 and I took my 11-year old with me. We parked in one of the on-campus garages and when we were walking over I saw several "Aggies Suck" t-shirts and one "F*** the Aggies" shirt and was getting a little concerned but no one said anything.

When we got to our seats (not in an Aggie section), the guy in the row behind us tapped me on the shoulder and welcomed me to Austin, said he hoped we have a good time and that he also hoped we didn't beat them too badly. He also said he wanted to pre-emptively apologize for the lady a few rows back that was usually into her second bottle by kickoff. He wasn't wrong, she screamed "Aggies Suck!" randomly every few minutes and thankfully she left in the 3rd quarter.

All in all, she was the only bad experience we had.

Eff that. Me, my 2 sons, a great friend and his nephew are sitting in sip section and if the Ags start rolling we are absolutely not keeping our mouths shut.

Last game I attended there was in the late 90's. We were outscored and I was in the sip section. You name it, I heard it. Ice thrown at the back of my head. Was fairly uncomfortable. Completely outnumbered. I know….my fault for sitting there in the first place.

I would look for a group of Aggies to walk with to and from the game. Avoid isolation.

My experience was 30 years ago. Now? Be careful.

My experience has been: alumni are fine. Students are bad. Just like most places. LSU is an outlier because so many tshirt fans buy season tickets. I'd never go back there but Texas is fine.

It's not hard though. Yell for your team but don't be a dick. At ND, NOT in the visitors section, an Aggie a row down and a few seats over kept standing and yelling when everyone was seated and quiet. Just annoying.

92, 94 - games were great because we whipped em
96 - awful, we got blown out and most sips were laughing with us
98 - I think entire stadium was hungover and ready to get out after a good battle
00 and 02 - whipped again, sips not too bad
04 - me + 2 squeezed in with Aggie band and I played trombone during one song. Never played it before.
08 - bad, we sucked
06 and 10 - awesome, we kicked their ass

Who cares, the tu males are limp wristed betas anyway. Just beat the crap out of them if they give you any problems.

Just remember if you do get hit with something it may be some noodle arm sip was trying to throw it at an official or their own team and just couldn't get it there.

Context, you know.

2010 my Sip sister and her hubby were unable to attend and sent me their tickets. We were in the middle of the tu section. A couple of young punks were simply mouthy until Gray made his second long TD. Everyone else in the area were cordial and polite to my wife and me.

It will be what you make of it. I went to the last one in Austin alone and never had any issues. Act like a jacka$$ and Im sure you will receive the same in return. Im sure youll be fine.

I've never gotten worse there in the stands than a bit of heckling and smack talking but in fairly friendly terms. I think it helps to be seated amongst alumni from both sides that understand the nature of the rivalry as intense and deep but also it is a rivalry over a sports contest, not a blood feud.

The wurst I have seen and heard has always been outside the stadium in Austin itself before or after the game. And typically from lurking T-shirt fans or tailgate drunks.
