I've never wanted a game more this season than this one (so far) which is probably why I have trepidations about it.

I live in Austin and have experienced the opposite. All quiet on the Western front. I've got $2k on tu (money line) as an emotional hedge. We win, meh, it's only $2k. If we somehow lose though, $2600 profit.

Win or lose we still get into the playoffs. Conferance championships are great, but it might be worth it to stay healthy for the playoffs and play one less game.

I see either outcome as a win-win.

Being a playoff lock and t.u. being effectively eliminated has taken some of the hype for the game out of it this year, for me. Obviously want to win, but even if we lose, we are still in the playoffs with a first round home game.

Effectively eliminated is the reason flags will be thrown, so the CFP can make another historic exemption to put sippy in. No 3 loss team has never made it before. Then they will put us against Georgia or Ole Miss. I want the SEC chip, but an extra week of rest and prep would help the sting if we lose.

Clemson made the CFP as a 10-3 ACC Champion last year, but no 9-3 team has made the CFP without even playing in a conference championship game.

Texas is practically eliminated from the playoffs. Even if they beat us to finish with a 9-3 (6-2 SEC) regular season record, they will need some help to make the playoffs. Therefore, Texas is playing a spoiler role to ruin our perfect regular season and prevent us from making our first-ever SEC Championship Game appearance.
