The news is from the Florida side. Florida has moved on according to Florida sources.

I also think thats why you've seen lea and drink sign extentions. Im sure those extensions have been on the table a while and their agents probably told them to sign them because lsu has their man and Florida is going with summeral or brohm.

I would really be surprised if he stays at Ole Miss. LSU and Florida are a step up.

Chris Beard did same with us. He doesn't even need to. Ole Miss already (foolishly) said they would match any offer he gets. So yeahI think he stays and should stay but will break the bank. Frankly he has earned it for turning the team into a constant factor. But I can't stand him.

Yep, at least towards the ends of building a dynasty. UF has the institutional discipline to keep Lane in line, and would probably proscribe most of his trolling. There also seems to be much less variance in FL talent vs. LA talent, so that too would fit a systematic approach like his. That would genuinely scare me, but it'd also be UGA's and bama's problem much more than ours.

Now lsu will put no constraints on Lane, his ethics, or even his players' conduct. And when things go south, like they inevitably will in a scenario where concerns related to long-term stability and "moral compasses" are laughingstocks, Lane will be tarred and feathered 10x worse than B Kelly was. So we'll hit peak Kiffin in remarkably quick time and it'll be a long, fun ride for those of us outside that state.

Florida is off the board so irrelevant at this point.

Maybe we are seeing a shift in that because of NIL and the portal. Look at the Ags success this season and the impact Howell, Craver and Concepcion have had. Look at Indiana and Tech. Times are changing.

Then why hasn't he signed his extension that has been on the table for two months now?

He's not staying. This whole ordeal is not good for recruiting for Ol Miss.

It's still a very attractive job. They are offering him $25-$30 million a year in NIL on top of the revenue share

Agree things are different now. For coaches and players, Florida and LSU can't outbid OleMiss or TTech / Mizzou for that matter. When conferences realign for better TV ratings, then the teams in super conferences will have an advantage again. Until then this is the way it is.

That sorry ass would be a good fit for LSU. Two of a kind.
