Manning sucked - A&M gave them the game. Sark did what he was supposed to do, but he was was trying too hard with his verbal fellatio to the CFB committee.

Good luck - Bama no go last year w/ 3 losses and they are a bigger brand.

They have 3 top 10 wins, and kicked our ass. They are peaking at the right time. They are easily a top 12 team.

Manning most certainly didn't suck.
Sark absolutely pantsed Elko- Ags didn't give anything… it was straight up taken.
Sark made good points. I don't know how anyone with eyes can say sips aren't a top 12 team today.
Bama not bigger brand, sorry.

They might be. But they also have 3 losses, including to Florida. If playoff invitations aren't a reward for a good season (including a good win/loss record), what's the point?

I don't care if they get in or not…I don't think they will. Sark coached rings around Elko and Klein though. Elko may be a better coach but our staff had their asses handed to them tonight.

If you reward strength of schedule, you have to award the wins and losses. They lost to 2 top 3 teams. Bad game against Florida.

With a 1-11 record and they would still be in CFP contention.

They did kick our ass. That doesn't make three loss Texas (with two overtime wins) a playoff team. We laid a turd in Austin tonight.

Maybe we can get Jimbo to help out a little?

Manning was 14/31 passes for an average of 5.8 yards per pass and total of 179 yards. He was ok. We were mostly gashed by a run game that hasn't shown up all year.

Dont forget that they took the two worst teams in the conference to overtime just to beat them. It looks like they've improved, but that doesn't erase where they've been. Let them try again next year.

Almost certainly Texas won't absent Bama, OU, Michigan, and Miami losses, and even then it's dicey. If Tech wins then they're in for sure even with a CCG loss.

Notre Dame is in despite going 1-2 in their only real games (having beat 8-3 USC, whose best win is equally suspect over a Michigan team with no ranked wins).

Hopefully Pitt beats Miami which would bolster the Irish's resume since the odds of ND losing to Stanford are all but nonexistent.

They have a good case. FL was a really bad loss.

And Georgia beat them by 4 scores.

I think if Georgia game was closer they would get in, still might. But combination of really bad loss with Georgia blowout probably keeps them out.
Nothing looks more foolish than tradition to those who have none.

Texas 16 Kentucky 13 (OT)
Texas 45 Miss St 38 (OT)
Georgia 35 Texas 10 (at Texas)
Florida 29 Texas 21

But all Sark wants to mention is a loss at Ohio state and a rivalry win tonight at home.

He is not wrong.
They deserve to be there, had they beat up a cupcake in week 1 they would be 10-2 right now and a lock.
If they don't make it every p4 team currently scheduled to play upper level p4 teams in non conference will all cancel.
There will be absolutely zero upside to playing a top level non conference team.
uneedastraw
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They would not be a lock with 2 losses. They likely would be in but several 2 loss teams would have arguments to have their spot.

Alabama, the Crimson Tide, and Bama (several) would have a pretty close argument over a 2 loss Texas assuming it's the Florida loss dropped. If either of the other two (UGA or OSU) then it's not even close.

Not in the SEC, which requires every program to schedule such games.

It was worse being there watching all that suckage. That was truly 4 quarters of the first 2 quarters of the uSC game. Yeah sure. there were a FEW highlights...offset by a lot of suckage lowlights.

p.s.- and you don't realize how SLOOOOOW this Aggie defense is unless you see them live in action (not on tv).

We scheduled ND and that win is really the only game helping us to a lofty ranking. When you play an elite team in your nonschedule and beat them, especially on the road, it'sa huge plus. But if you lose the game, then it definitely hurts you and you gain nothing from it. On the other hand, ND loses to Northern Illinois last year and still makes the playoff because they play an easy remaining schedule. It's a hugh risk/reward gamble playing a tough nonconference opponent. And who has Texas Tech beaten that's really good, noone.

and the problem for t.u....

they are taking that risk for the next 4 years while playing a 9-game SEC schedule

one of Michigan, Ohio State,or Notre Dame is on their schedule for the next 4 years
