#1 Ohio State will probably improve to 12-0 by beating Big10 #4 Michigan.

#2 Indiana improved to 12-0 by beating Big10 bottom feeder Purdue.

#3 TAMU fell to 11-1 by losing on the road, at night, in a rivalry game, to SEC #5 t.u.

#4 Georgia improved to 11-1 by beating ACC #4 at a "neutral site" where Georgia has played many games.

#5 Texas Tech will probably improve to 11-1 by beating WV, a B12 bottom feeder.

#6 Oregon will probably improve to 11-1 by beating Washington, a Big10 middle of the pack team.

#7 Ole Piss improved to 11-1 by beating MSST, an SEC bottom feeder.

All 2 loss teams or worse after that.

Everyone after this, save BYU, is a 2+ loss team.

After reading the above, who is the best 1 loss team? I think Georgia jumps us and we're #4. No SECCG, and that sucks, especially because it was the sips that knocked us out. But a very real possibility we don't have to play that game and still get a first round CFP bye.

A Texas A&M home playoff game would be very appealing to a national audience. Playing a home playoff game in the state of Texas would be good for television ratings.

We're not currently #4. So no we don't stay there.

Texas at #16 isn't leapfrogging 5 teams to get to the #10 spot. And they have to be #10 or better due to the G5 and ACC champ auto bids. All of those teams ranked #10 - 15 would have to lose for that to even be remotely considered. Utah #13 already won. Sips ain't making the playoffs. They can cry all they want.

11-1 is a phenomenal finish to the regular season. A lot of things went the Aggie's way to get there.

At the end of the day though, it was an easy schedule.

Last night was just typical Aggie football….. as it has been for the last 86 years, 56 of which I've witnessed.

We simply played like we usually do…. down to the level of the competition. It's been coming the whole season, if you cared to notice. Last night was just an example of what our play calling and defensive play have been all year, not to mention our QB play.

The miracle is we won 11 games and we're ranked #3. For all the sunshine pumpers, please spare us your optimism. We'll be lucky to get to the playoffs, and have no chance of actually winning the Natty, because there are quite a few really good teams….. much better than we've pretended to be.

Agree. We are a good team. When Klein and Reed are on, we can be great. Moss makes us better too. It is soul crushing to lose at tu. That said, if you can't find joy in an 11-1 season and CFP birth, something is wrong with you. 90% of the posts on this board were "TeXaS 8&4" in September. 11-1 and the CFP is a massive success for this team. Reed needs to get better to be elite. He's a hell of an athlete and there is no reason to believe he can't/won't improve if he returns. Good season boys. Now go win some playoff games!

You have to get your losses in early to finish with a very high ranking.

Yeah, you're right. OSU lost to their rival at HOME and the rival wasn't ranked nearly as high as Texas was.

OSU's situation was much more dire last year
