Question about body slamming a player to the ground

Happened last night when t. u. player stopped our receiver and then decides to pick him up and body slam him. I think Haynes King had a Colorado player do the same to him, and King's ankle was broken. Should these types of intentional body slams be treated the same way targeting is, meaning this could lead to a player being ejected from the game?

I don't have the data but it does seem like there has been an increase in this style of tackle
