Is the team pissed off? Elko looked angry in the press conference but I couldn't tell based on York and Reeds press conferences. They might be thinking this was house money. Still in the playoffs regardless.

My observations on the game:
1. Missed field goal after Reeds injury. After EJ TD run, if we had made the FG, the game would have been tied. Momentum all on our side, maybe we get a stop.
2. Couldn't stop the run in the 3rd quarter. That's what we've been doing to other teams in the second half. Run it down their throats with bully ball. We got a taste of our own medicine.
3. Didn't throw the ball down the field until it was 20-10 in the 4th quarter. Everything was in the flats or 5 yards deep.
4. We truly are a line of scrimmage team. If we run the ball for 7+ yards on first down, we don't score less than 40 points a game. If we can't run the ball, that's when the offense stalls.
5. Penalties finally got us. To use Elkos words… we finally burnt our hand on the stove.

Tough loss, and painful for us fans given who we played. But time to turn the page and support the team for what lies ahead.

my guess would be pissed off, and very willing to work their ass of so they don't have to feel this way again. this loss had as much to do with us as texas.

Team was acting like South Carolina going into the locker room at the half and the played like them in the second half.

I watched the press conferences.

Reed seemed pretty professional still, but a bit down since they got beat and he didn't have a good game.

York looked pissed and disappointed, but more mad at himself/the defense since it was in their control/their fault for misfitting gaps and schemes all night. But seemed more pissed that we didn't avenge the loss from last season. He kept it professional with the press though

Cover the middle of the field, call better 3rd down plays, not 40yd passes down field. Problem fixed

People need to realize the 40 yard pass was Reed's choice. There were shorter routes, he just didn't take them.

Fault the OC for not calling a straight up run play (as opposed to pass play or RPO) if you want, but the choice of which route to throw is on the QB.

I don't know if shorter routes were open or if he was rushed on that play. What I do know is that Reed was locking in early on receivers and that cost us big time in this game.

They looked like they were carrying the weight of a fan base with BAS who think the success of the entire season rides on one game. They played hesitant and tight most of the game like they were playing not to lose. The mentality that the season is a failure just because we don't beat tu is asinine. Yeah it's not fun losing to your rival on the road when you are the #3 team in the country but I'll take our current status over the sips any day.

They aren't little *****es. They'll be back stronger.

I believe that Marcel was looking downfield quite a bit for receivers and ignoring considerable underneath opportunities. He was getting frustrated by the tu coverage. He's got to do better at taking what is there if he wants to take the next step at QB.

Offense - 4th and 1 > false start and then punt

Defense - 3rd and 8, offside leads to Texas keeping the ball

The team will be fine and focused on the playoffs. That is how football players are and why they made it to this level. Now if you are looking at the football forum some of these guys may never recover.
